    Did not realize it is an EXACT remake. No new features at all. Essentially upgraded from PS1 to PS3 graphics is all. Should never have paid $60 for this, but that is on me. If you are a huge fan of the original, and just looking for modern day nostalgia, without any change to the integrity of the classic, than this is perfect for you. If you were expecting maybe some additions, or improvements, you are out of luck.

    Watching my wife play one of my favorite childhood games (that was never released in the UK) made Christmas this year extra magical!

    I know there are already loads of remakes and remasters out now aiming to tug on nostalgia heart strings but this one hits different.
    You can definitely tell the developers grew up with this beloved RPG because playing through the game you can feel the love and care that went into recapturing the magic from playing it for the first time in the 90’s.

    Highly Recommended; even if you’ve played the entire game dozens of times like I have.

    I believe this was a remake of an older Mario RPG game and it was a blast! The story progression and character development is pretty typical but satisfying. Personally not a big fan of this chibi type art style, but it’s cute I guess. You band up with the wonderful Peach, menacing Bowser and a couple new partners who I won’t spoil for you. I think where this game really shines is on the core gameplay loop. I found the turn based combat to be pretty similar to original / thousand doors Paper Mario which is nostalgic because there’s timing based action inputs to do more damage and block incoming attacks. If you’re successful, you can chain combos and stack up stats depending on your party members. It’s also recommended to take on plenty of enemy encounters to level your party and buy gear upgrades since its a JRPG. To be honest, there was absolutely no point in this game that I was remotely challenged. But I’m also a 28 year old man playing a nintendo game, so there would be a bigger issue if I was. Overall recommend picking this one up, but it might be worthwhile to wait for a sale. I spent about $4 / hour played which isn’t incredible value. Still had fun though!

    One of my favorite SNES games, you can’t go wrong! This is NOT typical Mario, it’s turn based battling. It is fun and a bit wild for Mario.

    Fantastic game just as i remember the original title on SNES all those years ago. Its a charming title and straight forward so welcoming as a 1st RPG while still having layered mechanics for seasoned players. About 12-15 hours long in total and well worth the entry fee. Looks excellent playing on OLED model.

    Super Mario RPG isn’t your typical Mario game, but it’s one that shouldn’t be overlooked. It looks great, has an excellent remastered soundtrack, and retains the charm and easy to understand combat system that made the original so great.

The game is full of charm, the characters are fantastic and well written. The game is easy to play and more important understand. The music is whimsical and the art style is timeless.
