    Mean what I wrote on the title. Phenomenal gameplay, control, story & combat. This game is not for newbies or those that are timid. If you’ve turned this game on, give it a chance. It gets easier. This game will surprise you and wanting to keep coming back for more.

    I don’t think I’ve ever played a game where I was so immersed in it’s gameplay in such a way. The unbelievably tight controls, the incredible use of 3D audio, the fluidity in Selene’s movement and the macabre atmosphere all around you.

    It’s the kind of game I decide to put down after a long session and just keep thinking about it for the rest of my day until the next session.

    It’s honestly the only game that genuinely feels “next gen” to me as well, with how much haptic feedback and adaptive triggers shine here. combine that with what I think is the best use of 3D audio in any game, ever, and when the game finally clicks for you, you find yourself in that Returnal zone, like a special state of mind where you’re suddenly aware of everything happening around you in the game, even when it turns to an absolute bullet fireworkfest you get confident enough that you can get through this if you just stay calm and concentrate, read all the cues, listen to the sounds and react accordingly. And you eventually do react accordingly.

    It’s like you as the player do level up along with the character. Not often do you get past that boss fight you’ve been stuck at for so long because you’ve entered that arena dozens of times and memorised every single one of his attacks, or because you found that super ultra mega rare piece of equipment that immediately trivialises him, but because you eventually got better, your reactions are faster, you’re better at reading the situation and you’re much more aware of your surroundings.

    The game certainly moves you in a way, not to mention the feeling of beating a hard area or a boss for the first time with how hard they can be could not be any more satisfying.

    Overall, despite there being some missed opportunities, like the lack of an adequate synergy system, it’s still an absolute 10/10 for me.

    The game lore is super addictive and ever changing maps will always keep that element of surprise alive. Combat is intense and graphics are gorgeous! I play this on my OLED TV and its just fantastic!

    This is a really different kind of game. You have to keep reliving the same event over and over, but doing it differently every time hard to explain, but I really enjoyed it.

    I’ve yet to finish, but definitely one of the ps5’s best looking games, and feels great in the hands. That said, the rouge lite structure can make the actual gameplay repetitive, but the graphics, atmosphere, and story has kept me engaged.

    Returnal is an instant classic. Developed by Housemarque, Returnal is a rogue like that pushes the players skill level to the brink. You will be tested.

    Returnal, despite its lackluster name, is a fantastic experience, and I couldn’t get enough of it. It’s challenging yet Returnal. The co-op feature is very well done. Definitely more entertaining playing with a friend. As of this writing, my favorite PS5 game.

    I really like this game. Returnal fully utilizes the duelsense controller’s feature set. I thought this game would not have Much of a story but it really pulls you in. On top of a being a running gun shooter, it doesn’t disappoint In the graphics department. I like how the PS5 Has a performance mode that bumps up the fps to 120. Once you switch the feature on, you wont want to turn it off. Highly recommended. I think I might buy the pc version as well.

    Extremely challenging and fun. Hard to pick back up after a break because I suck so bad after some time away. They did a phenomenal job with the controller integration. Every weapon feels powerful. With some 3D headphones added, this is a very immersive experience.

    Possibly my favorite game on the PS5 so far. While “Rift Apart” was amazing and well optimized, Returnal hit so many of the notes I didn’t realize I wanted in a game. Challenging at first, but becomes manageable after some time and adjustment. Love the nonlinear storytelling, gunplay, enemy variations, and maps. Even the endgame mode (tower) is extremely fun after finishing the game.

    Love, love, love this game. The mechanics of gameplay are great and the environment is stunning. Gameplay is slightly repetitive because you restart every time you die, but the environment (to a degree), changes each time you reset. The fact that you reset is the frustrating part. Grinding for over an hour to gear up just to die a few minutes into the next zone sucks. As you get through zones and fight the bosses, the game gets harder as would be expected. Some of the intermediate fights leading to boss are difficult, and you will die….A LOT. The fact that you die and reset is a mechanic built in the game so it is unavoidable, but that is part of the story progression. The story is incredible and leaves room for various interpretations. I truly enjoyed this game and sometime in the future I will likely start fresh and play through again. The co-op mode isn’t a typical two player experience. You can join a friends “instance” of the game, but all progression and unlocks are only given to the first player (not the player who joined). For example, you start a game and your friend joins you. You fight and kill Phrike (the first boss). Only you get credit for the fight, your friend doesn’t. So when your friend goes back to their own game, they will be back at the point they left off – without the boss win. I enjoyed playing with a buddy and really didn’t mind playing through some of the boss fights twice so we both could progress. The boss fights are tough, but sometimes getting to the boss is the biggest challenge in the game.

    This is a sleeper title on the PS5, thing Dead Souls that is a bullet hell kind of game. The semi rouge like gives it an additional challenge.
    I always suggest people to watch a gameplay video to get a better understanding of the game mechanics. Otherwise the game doesn’t get many chances because it can be too hard.

    It is the most played game on my PS5 and for very good reason!

    Bought this game based on the positive reviews but I didn’t like it. Graphics were nice but it’s just not my style of game.
