    I just moved into a new house that was pre-wired for surround sound, and the only place to put the rears was in the ceiling, so I did a little research and decided on the RC80i’s to go with my rti 10 fronts and Denon receiver. I got a few ideas off of youtube for installation, and it was pretty simple and straightforward. They sound fantastic! I previously had monitor 30’s for my rears, and these sound more seamless, and match up with the rest of my equipment very well. Maybe it’s because of them being higher than the old speakers, but it’s almost like they’re not there, but the sound is great. I would definitely recommend these to anyone needing ceiling speakers.

    WOW: I purchased a set of klipsch r-28 floor speakers from bestbuy to go along with an older klipsch sub 12 subwoofer, and an even older klipsch c6 center channel speaker. then when it came to the surrounds I was worried about the so called timber matching effect . I decided to take a chance on the polk RC-80i inceiling speakers instead of a complete klipsch speaker system. price had a lot to do with my choice, so I thought I would take a chance, rounded out my system with a denon avr-x3000 receiver and BOOM!!! The most amazing sound I have ever experienced. And this coming from my 7th complete home theater setup I have used. PERFECT. The entire system was purchased through bestbuy over a long period of time.

    These speakers produce clean rich sound. The moveable tweeter allows you to aim it in the best direction for your individual set up. We hear things in the rear channels we had not heard in the past.

    I bought these because of the brand and the price point. I wanted to go higher end to match my Def Tech towers, but couldn’t justify the cost for surrounds. I’m telling you, these sound amazing, even when I play all channel stereo. I have them mounted without any acoustical box, just open ceiling joists.

    Speakers sound great, especially for the price. My only complain is the low ends disappear in large rooms with high ceilings. I’m debating putting in an in wall sub in those areas.

    All four speakers have sound issues. Sounds as if coming up out of a well. Could be issues other than the speakers. Haven’t found them yet if so. Still looking for a reason other than the speakers. Really good product historically.

    After reading multiple reviews on several different in ceiling speakers I ended up choosing the Polk RC80i solely because of the bass specs. I was looking for a speaker with deep bass, which the Polk was unable to deliver. While on the other hand the mids and highs did stand about average with cheaper speakers I heard in the past. As for the overall construction of the speaker, it was noticeable cheap and lacked that “solid” feeling.

    I’m using these as my ceiling speakers for my 7.1.2 Atmos setup. So far they’ve produced great effects and more bass than I was expecting. They blend in very nice with the ceiling and the movable tweeters are a plus if you dont have the best mounting positions.

    These work as intended, good sound, nice clean look in the ceiling. Bought several of these for my house renovation. biggest effort is cutting the hole if you are a DIYer. Don’t buy the cheap hole cutter kit at HD with the plastic lid that captures the dust, it isn’t big enough. I bought a 240mm/9.45 inch blade and it worked just right.
