AI found an excellent-like new condition open box priced at more than 50% off suggested retail. It even came in at about 45% less than the best price I could find. Shopping lesson: consider “open box” products. I did back it up with the Best Buy 4- year protection plan for about $69! This covers replacement if it can’t be fixed. As for the LG SoundBar SC9S with Dolby Atmos and wireless subwoofer quality, I have an LG OLED 65” smart TV and this product pairs seamlessly with it. I’m not really an audiofile so my listening needs aren’t as sophisticated as many, but I have to say, this sound bar rocks! Very happy with everything from buying through Best Buy to their quality packaging and fast shipping.

Purchased the sound bar to go with the LG77C3 OLED. The woofer had trouble syncing with the sound bar and found that the woofer was defective. I did get the chance to watch a movie with everything working and I thought the sound was extremely poor. The base sounded fine but the mid range (voice) speakers were horrible. The voices sounded mumbled and lacked any depth and richness. I returned the sound bar and replaced it with the Sonos Arc. The Sonos was a little more money but completely worth it. Absolutely no comparison between the two.

Product wise as good as it gets! Audio is great and setup was easy. However if you buy an open box product they literally ship it with the box still open. Quit being lazy and tape the box. This is the 2nd time I’ve received an open box product like this.

In terms of wear, it was like new. Had no issues setting it up but have 2 very big inconvininences.
1) HDMI eARC from soundbar to TV on my product just doesn’t seem to work. Tried a bunch of cables but it wont provide sound. this forced me to get the LG Wowcast to be able to still get eARC
2) Now that I have the LG Wowcast, when I Use it with the rear speakers, there is constant cracking/popping that makes it hard to enjoy media, I’ve just ended up turning off rear speakers when using the HDMI.

I purchased this soundbar at the same time I purchased the 65″ LG OLED TV. The TV is wall mounted in a large, vaulted ceiling room, and the TV speakers are OK, but the soundbar and wireless subwoofer significantly enhance the sound. The packaging was outstanding, and the instructions were very clear to optimize the sound in my large room.

Purchased this sound bar to go with the LG OLED 77C3. TV is stunning, the sound bar… not so much. The base is fine but the mid (voice) is horrible. The voices sounded mumbled and unclear. Also, it was odd that I was able to put the sound to 100 and the mid (voice) still wasn’t too loud. The sound was so poor that I returned the sound bar and bought the Sonos Arc. The difference between the two is night and day. The Arc provides clear, rich and deep sounds that the LG sound bar couldn’t. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money for a quality product. Especially, if you are getting a nice TV.

I was so excited to get this upgrade to the existing LG soundbar that had served us well with our Sony 85″ TV. This new model supposedly had a 3rd upfiring speaker and much enhanced surround. I had everything set up by GeekSquad, and basically all they did was connect it to the TV to see that it had sound. Not exactly what I expected as I thought they would go through the options and help optimize it. They didn’t but it does have an app which I used to have it self-optimize. The trouble began though when the new LG C3 and the LG soundbar decided to connect and went to something called LG Orchestra. This is the default “optimized” setting for the pair, and frankly, it sounds like you just put your sound system in a large garbage can. Highs are overly high and tinny, lows are not great. I tried every possible setting (there are many presets) as well as customizing, and for example, “voice enhanced” enhanced the background and made the voices even less intelligible. I tried Amos and IMAX content and although you would get thunderous low end, the mid range was non existent and the volume change within a scene from low end to mid/high was wild. I ended up putting the old sound bar back in place, which doesn’t have the LG orchestra setting, and it sounded 100x better. I think this is an LG software problem. So if you do get one, don’t let it go to the LG Orchestra link. Call it a 3rd party device and it is passable.

With my purchase of the sleek (you could say,”skinny”) LG OLED tv, I was schooled that a tradeoff of that sleek design could be a compromise to the tv’s sound capability. Hence, my soundbar purchase. I couldn’t be happier. The sound quality is movie theater-like which is good because we watch a lot of movies. It sits in front of the tv and blends in as an unnoticed accessory. I’ll probably never go back to being without one.
