    The optical drive was awesome (compact size any easy to use) for one month, then it just stopped working. It won’t even turn on. Nothing happens when it is plugged into any computer. The computer doesn’t even recognize it is there.
    It only gets one star for ease of use, because not working impairs it’s ability to be used.
    Also, there doesn’t seem to be a “force open/ manual override” button, usually a tiny hole where you insert a pin, to retrieve a disk that might have been left in the drive.

    Worked as expected. There are many things you have to download initially but after that worked great for viewing a work disc and watching a movie.

    Well, I bought this thing on October 23 which is my birthday
    November 8 it’s actually stop working
    And I thought oh, not a problem I’m gonna return it
    But I getting in my Best Buy cabinet and found a notice no longer returnable before November 4
    I know I have beautiful piece of garbage nice

    This unit is very easy to use. It is a plug and play unit. It is very quiet when running. No issues inserting/ejecting discs. First disc I put in was from 2006 with photos on it. They came up in a few seconds, and I was able to transfer some easily to my Mac. I could not have been happier since I had not seen contents of the disc for 17 years.

    I wish I would’ve gotten one that was a little faster but that’s my fault. This one works just as it should, and very easily able to be hooked into the computer.

    I had to replace my old Laptop and the New ones do not have DVD+RW/CD-RW Players. This is something that I do not use all the time, So being External, all I have to do is plug it in when I need it and it works perfectly.

    I initially hesitated to purchase this device due to my reliance on iOS. However, I was pleasantly surprised as the CD-ROM seamlessly connected to my computer, dispelling my concerns. If I could, I would grant it an even higher rating if it were possible. I wholeheartedly urge everyone to invest in this exceptional item.

    Decent product. I had some difficulty with the software running the machine but just uninstalled and reinstalled & whatever glitch happened fixed itself. For some reason to i can’t get it to burn disks. It reads & i can transfer from disk to my laptop but i can’t burn anything from my laptop.
