This sound system goes toe to toe with the best of them. LG has the soundbar app that makes utilizing this soundbar very user friendly and gives you full control of making the sound your own. I’ve seen a few comments about the additional speakers not being truly wireless and it’s true. However what is unique to this set up is that the hub to connect them is not through the subwoofer and to be honest that offers a great benefit. For my set up I’m running optical but it does have hdmi (arc) and an addition port to bring back use to the used hdmi port. It sounds amazing but to put it to perspective, the speakers have this full surround sound setting so the voice projection doesn’t just come from the soundbar but from all the speakers so regardless where you’re sitting you get to her with clarity while still getting the shifting of sound from different components on screen that move from left to right or vice versa moving around all of the speakers. Chef’s kiss to how great of a job they did with this. Also it comes with the brackets to attach to the wall and on the app there is a feature that allows you to turn off the lettering in the front when you have it connected to the desired input. It still lights up when you put the volume up or down but it provides a cleaner look when that’s not on all the time.

I purchased this five speakers surround because I thought just match the speakers to the TV. Absolutely bad decision. After about two months, I returned it to get a Sonos Arc paired with Sub Mini, best decision. Based on my experience with this unit, I think LG should stick with making TVs and leave the speaker space to those who already figured it out.

In my bedroom ive had an old sony soundbar and subwoofer set up, the sound quality was nice but this definitely upped the game. Definitely great for a bedroom-medium sized living room set up!!

Set up system with manual that probably needed better instructions. Rear speaker wires and connections need to be more robust. Once a good connection is made the rear speakers enhance the theater experience. Overall sound is very good and clear. 4 stars for the rear wired connections.

This was a replacement for an aging Panasonic all-in-one CD/DVR player, AM/FM system with wireless rear speakers. This is a nice plug-n-play unit that required very little configuration. I initially had the rear speakers sitting on the floor and couldn’t tell if they were working at all. I raised them off the floor (head height when seated) on the pedestals from the old system and it made a world of difference.
As a side note, I paired this soundbar with a new LG television (optical link) and have been disappointed that the audio is not synchronized between the two units. I haven’t been able to silence the TV speaker and control the soundbar using the TV remote. I also had a tough time getting my Verizon universal remote to control the cable box, TV and soundbar.

I am extremely pleased with my LG soundbar. It gives tremendous sound and surround sound effects for a very reasonable cost. I used it to replace my home theater receiver and separate speakers. It not only provides better sound but it reduces the bulk of my media equipment. The subwoofer has a very clean and deep bass and I hear things from the surrond speakers I never picked out previously. I highly recommend this sound system in this price range.

This was a great home theater system until the two small rear speakers stopped working. But I think this is an LG problem? I’ve had a previous home theater system and the same problem. Which honestly it sucks!
