    Great sound bar for the money. I purchased an open box which item which arrived intact with all the parts and pieces. It was easy to mount under the TV with the supplied brackets.

    Very nice sound. I was not expecting much bass and punch but this unit knocked my socks off. I had a music recording studio and know a lot about professional sound. This product is an incredibly good deal. Crisp highs and deep bass. In fact, I’m getting ready to watch a Star Trek movie. Yay, me!

    My last Bose speaker lasted me 4.5 years and died suddenly, was upset that it didn’t last as long but whatever. It took me roughly 1.5 years to find this speaker as all the other options available wasn’t what i wanted. I didnt want a sepetate speaker for just bass. If you love a bit of bass without extra speakers or just love the feel/sound it is surprisingly packing it. My old speaker never had this amount of punch to it, sound/voice clarity is spot on. The price is great for what you get

    Great speaker for an entry level. Sound is good at most levels. Seems to fade at high volum, which would be expected from a small speaker. Like the airplay feature to play music to the apeaker from anywhere in the home.one problem was the only one Beat Buy had looked like ot had been opened and resealed. They would mot lnock anything off the proce bit i took it anyway (never again). It was mising a few things lime small parts and the HDMI cable, whick i didnt notice until later. Mow too late to return it. Only thing i wish is that you could add the subwoffer to the Bar 300 but not an option. Ahould have waoted for ths 500 or wven the 1000, with the detachable woreless speakers oh well, i guess lesson learned.

    I purchased this as an “Open Box-Excellent” from Best Buy, which was a pretty good deal on its face, to replace a previous JBL soundbar (moved to a different TV in our house) which I was very happy with, but decided the BAR 300 would be an upgrade for our 75″ TV in our living room.

    Well, the BAD news was that when I received the BAR 300 in the mail, things looked great until I realized the power cord and the HDMI cable were missing and that the remote control had apparently been damaged by the original purchaser (it still worked, but they tried to open the battery compartment the wrong way and cracked the plastic case). I contacted Best Buy and they initially told me to return it, but the Bar itself was in excellent shape; I contacted JBL/Harmon after registering the BAR 300 and offered to buy replacement parts, but JBL/Harmon just replaced all three for free (even knowing it was Best Buy that had apparently screwed up). I went back to my local Best Buy and, to their credit, was refunded the difference between “Open Box-Excellent” and “Open Box-Poor”, about a $40 difference.

    I’m still working on getting the Bar to recognize my home network, so I’m using an optical hookup for the time being (which works quite well). The sound is excellent, the Calibr button seems to have done a good job getting the soundbar to work properly for my living room configuration, and it works quite well with my XBox console.

    I’ve enjoyed JBL/Harmon’s quality with my smaller soundbar for the last few years and it works quite well with my other TV (which hooked up without a hitch) and I’m impressed by the quality of the BAR 300 build. I didn’t want a separate subwoofer for a few reasons and, while the BAR 300 isn’t exactly great surround sound, it does a lot better than my Samsung’s TV speakers and better than my old JBL soundbar.

    This solved our situation by being one of the few soundbars that is short enough to fit in front of the tv’s stand. With that smaller height, comes a little bit of a lack in performance in full range sound. Setup was easy, it can be 100% controlled by your tv’s remote, so with the downsizing of the surround sound to this, now I dont even need to use my Harmony remote anymore either.

    I really would like some more bass out of this soundbar, but seeing the rest of the family doesnt like that, it works out on the whole.

    Thought this JBL300 wold fill my 12 x 14 room with sound,it does not.I have other tv,s without sound bar in the house tha are louder than this without a soundbar. I have the bass on highest setting and the soundbar as high as it will go and it is noway loud enough.No manual just a quick start up page and it is in 22 different languagess. had to go on computer to find out to make it work to my tv.This soundbar cost more than my new tv did.I guess you have to pay$1,000 dolllars + to get one with room filling sound or loud enough to hear it.

    Good: stereo content sounds really good from a small form factor. Bad: multichannel audio sounds too quiet compared to stereo — so when you get stereo ads mixed it with multichannel shows it blasts you away. So I’m kinda leaning towards making it only stereo to avoid this problem which kind of defeats the purpose of 5 channels on the soundbar. Also, certain features auto enable themselves after each startup (by design according to the manual) – so if you dont prefer their auto sound or auto voice features you have to disable it every time you turn it on — who does that? Lots of people mention the audio sounding better with these things disabled. Also, those features require special button press combinations to turn on/off which is kind of annoying. How much money did they save for having two less buttons on the remote? There aren’t even buttons for that on the virtual remote either.

    Set this up under a 58″ Insignia LED Fire TV for our parents in the corner of a living room in an open layout area. Sound is excellent for movie dialogue and sound, whether you are near or 20+ feet away. Replaced an older multi-speaker setup and we are very pleased with its simplicity and ease of setup, and despite a separate remote comes on/off with the tv. Very happy with the purchase.
