    This is a gift for my granddaughter. Seeing her excited when she opened it was a real treat. She and her husband both work all day and then come home to a hungry child.

    The Duo Plus model with whisper quiet steam release works like a charm. Eliminates the geysers of steam my old model used to emit. Easy clean up–but removal of the anti-block shield does require a bit more finger strength. Be sure to read the instruction manual before attempting removal. Really like the all silver color scheme. The 6 qt size is adequate for small families.

    It’s useful in that it’s gotten me more accustomed to cooking in general… it’s bigger than I thought it would be. It also takes a bit of time and effort to get used to/learn how to use. Ultimately, now that the two of us are fully acquainted, my main critique is that the preheat can take a while which is not factored into the recipe, and the Slow Cooker function did not work at all. For about 4-5 hours it stayed on the PreHeat function. I had to shift to Pressure Cook and later found out online that people recommend you still have an individual slow cooker in addition to this instant Pot, which is rather irksome because there IS the promise of the slow cooker function.

    It is good for spanish rice as well! Works great! I have used it for homemade stews with great results.

    I love it! Makes cooking soups and stews a lot easier and quicker. Just dont forget to remove the tag INSIDE the valve. Otherwise it will not hold pressure.

    I only used this once with the clear rubber. I had to pressure it 1 hour and tehe result needed more time which i didn’t have so i am not sure if i can give a fair recommendation for this as yet

    I love this product! Hard beans to soft and edible in minutes. Large chicken breasts with vegetables in minutes. My old crock pot was awesome, but it took hours to cook in. I can’t wait to use it for even more, highly recommend!

    This seems like a wonderful product. Demonstrations on Youtube are what made buy this.

    Just beware the instructions that come with it are very unclear. I was under the impression that the ORANGE RING that comes it was an extra part. But, no, you really need to install it, as i found out the hard way. My first meal never came up to pressure and scorched the pan pretty badly. I still ate the spaghetti and meat sauce that wasnt burned. It was good.

    Also, i couldnt figure out where the condensation cup was, and order some more. Whereupon, my roommate discovered the original on the pot.

    Make sure you install the enclosed ring. (Though i feel like every pot is different).

    Every thing that I thought it would be. I purchased this instant pot to supplement my aging pressure cooker. I really like the stainless steel pressure chamber but the “quiet pressure relief “ is slow. I think I would suffer through the noise for a quicker pressure relief.

    love this instant pot! it can do so many things and it fits perfectly on my counter. i had a mini one before and it as too small. now i can do pot roasts, baby back ribs, pulled pork, rice, soup and its also a steamer. big enough to fit alot without being overcrowded. makes meat juicy and tender.

    Very Concerning Metallic chemical taste. I washed inner pot. I did 2 test runs before cooking some rinsed beans (newly bought) in water, with added salt and garlic powder. The cooking was completed fast. The taste was supper bitter, metallic and very chemical like. I googled to see what solution- there are multiple reviews saying the same thing, and how these taste doesnt go away. Thjs cannot be safe for human consumption, its that bad. I dont believe the 4.8 star rating anymore.

    Have cooked several things so far, very happy. Easy to use functions. Manual helps. For items not on settings easy to set times based on internet recipe searches. Wish they had website dedicated to their item with cook times for a bigger variet of foods thoug or an app.

    I love this electric pressure cooker. Mostly, I use it for cooking brown rice, stew, and soup. So, I am not sure about other functions. I don’t make yogurt and it seems to be not as convenient as using a stove-top pan for steaming and saute.
