Aiya –
Fun rhythm game with tons of content in the base game. There’s over 100 characters and over 380 song from throughout final fantasy history. You can also upgrade to the digital deluxe to unlock more music from other Square games. Battle mode is pretty fun against other players and you can also exchange player cards to get rare summons from other players. Overall a really addictive game that would be perfect for final fantasy fans or fans of rhythm games.

This title has a staggering amount of content. While the actual gameplay modes are simple without much diversity, the sheer number of songs is huge. Obviously everyone has their own favorites and there will always be songs you wish were in it that aren’t, but overall it’s a finely curated selection. My only other gripe is that some songs are cut short or aren’t their full versions.

Theatrhythm is a fantastic game. Sthere are so many song throughout the Final Fantasy series along with a ton of characters throughout the series. The music is fantastic and with a ton of dlc tracks from other Square games coming this is very well worth it

If you’ve played Theatrhythm before, this is a no-brainer purchase. It’s great to be able to play this on a large screen with a full speaker setup.
I was curious how the controls would work since previous titles were on the 3DS. But apparently the input for this is based more on an arcade release in Japan. It’s adapted very well in my opinion, with most of the focus being on pressing one or two buttons and moving the joystick. I’ve not come across any issues where I felt cheated out of a press, but some of the dual joystick moves take some practice.
The base game contains so much music it’s almost overwhelming. Every mainline Final Fantasy is represented, including key characters and monsters/bosses. The art style is fun and the presentation is great.
There is a lot of DLC planned for this game, but given how much you get with the initial purchase I found it hard to be bothered. You can buy a Season Pass or just buy the packs for the specific games you’re interested in, which so far has included things like The World Ends with You, Nier, SaGa, and other popular titles.
I really only have a couple of complaints:
1. You can adjust the timing in the settings, but it’s manual. Most of these games let you hit a button in time with a beat to determine the timing, but this game does not offer that. It’s a really weird oversight.
2. I honestly almost never find anyone to play with online despite the online modes. I expect it’s not crossplay with the Switch version, which probably would have helped.
But overall it’s a ridiculous amount of content in a very fun package and completely worth full price.

Great visuals, addicting gameplay, and over all fun. Not one for musical games, but the mixture of music and RPG elements is nice. Very fun wether alone, or with friends.

Fun lil thing to chip away at, here and there, for a long time. Can’t ask for better source material… just not the biggest fan of the graphics
