    This is now the third one of these that I’ve had. When they work, they work great, but they stop playing any discs every few months.
    It’s getting very frustrating.

    This DVD player plays just about anything. Only complain I have is there is no front light or display to see what tract number you are playing …you have to have your TV screen on all the time to control the unit. I bought this so I can play my SACD not spent thousand of dollars to buy a unit that can play them.

    We actually was able to find this as an excellent open box for a great price. Hooked it up to our 4k Sony Bravia TV the picture is outstanding. The upscaling is pretty good from regular Blue Rays.

    This 4k UHD player has a lot of settings that can be adjusted to match what works best for your particular TV and preference. Setup and navigation are easy but it may take some trial and error to adjust the color rendering formats, audio formats, and display sizing the way that you want them. The upscaling is excellent, UHD is perfect, and all special features on the discs are accessible. You can stream links from discs, Netflix, Prime, and Youtube. The only thing that disappointed me on this player is that it would not play some old Northern Exposure discs. It apparently is not compatible with the double sided format that the DVDs use.

     this is a very good 4K UHD Blu-ray player. I highly recommend it if you like physical media, it plays every format of disc out there Hi-Rez Doby vision all the goodies for a pretty decent price.

    So far this Blu-Ray player is working just great. Very surprised by how easy it was to connect up and start playing DVDs! My wife has been able to work it after the first time, which has never happened before

    Didnt know what i was missing untill i bought this and let me tell ya! Wow!! You can get close to the same quality from some streaming sites but u cant get the sound quality and the consistency of the picture quality with out one of these babies! Get it on sale!

    It works as intended for now. Recent dvd (bluray) player started out the same way. They eventually stopped playing blu ray dvd for what ever reason. No update for the system, no fixes, and becomes a 200.00 paper weight.

    This Sony UBP-X800M2 player is worth the price. I now have 3 of these. I was so impressed with the first one I bought. I’ve had my first one for over one year and no problems at all. These players are heavy duty and my 4k discs look and sound super awesome. Super satisfied with this model.

    I bought this in 2022 and I regret it completely. It is faulty and crashes about halfway through while I’m playing any longer movie or older movie with lots of film grain.

    Unfortunately, in spite of all its other great features, it would not read most of my movies via USB thumb drive. Also the front USB interface plastic tab was poorly designed and flimsy. I could imagine it breaking off before too long with repeated use. I am assuming the issue had to do with its codecs list installed in the software. I ended up buying an LG 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray model that encountered none of these problem issues.

    This top of the line Sony disc player is well made; the chassis it’s built on is heavier than a lesser player, in order to reduce vibration from rotating disc. The Blu-ray and 4K discs look great on my Samsung 85″ 8K TV, and sound great on my sound system. Then, I also upgraded my HDMI cables (to HDMI 2.1, with its wider bandwidth to accomodate 8K video), and both the audio and video further improved! A few things that my old Sony player had, which I miss is a display on the player that show play time on the disc, and a backlight on the remote; but other than that, this is a great player!

    I’ve been wanting to upgrade to a 4k player for a while now, and I’m glad I did. I’ve always liked Sony’s products, and this is no exception.

    The price at BB was almost a no-brainer.

    This has been a great player for me so far. It is the second Sony Blu-ray player I have owned and treats me well. The picture quality is excellent and the DVD upscaling is impressive. I recommend this to anyone who still uses physical media. We are a dying breed, Forever physical!

    It’s a big player, sure, but it looks right in my stack. The 4k quality is great, and the DVD upconvert is top notch.

    Solid, premium material. Good loading speeds, fluid fast forwarding and rewinding. DolbyVision must be turned on and off manually depending on if the disc includes it.
