    I bought this because it was fairly cheap. I have a collection of dvds and Blu-ray’s because im old school. I like to have a physical copy so if my internet goes out for whatever reason i can still watch something.

    The only reason this gets a 1 is the Best Buy customer service in store and the fact that it did work, but certainly not as described. I read the specifications and it states very clearly it has a 4K UHD blu ray drive. Sure when you do further research you can find it does not play 4K but this is incredibly misleading to the consumer and was a complete waste of my time. If you’re looking for a 4K UHD Player, the Sony X700 does. Let’s hope that works, although I had to spend $20 more for an eBay purchase because this unit is $175 at best buy

    Blu ray is by far the way to go , streaming is a scam and fluctuating bandwidth will ruin picture quality and sound quality. This is a great product the upscaling is definitely noticeable.

    I don’t understand why it says 4k player when it doesn’t play/read a 4k disc. I consider this a waste of money and time. Cause the store didn’t even have this player in stock when the website said yes

    Replaced an old blue ray player with this Sony Blue Ray. Noticed a big difference on my new Sony TV when playing movies. Even the older movies sound and picture was an upgrade.

    Honestly, I never knew the potential of my 4K TV until I popped in a Blueray in this player and watched it. Wow, just incredible! It looked like the demos they show in the stores. I was so impressed. Also, I never used the smart capabilities of any of the dvd/disc players I have had before- but everything looks great through this device. Only recommendation- get a good HDMI cable and try to keep it short

    I bought a similar product but with wireless connection. Netflix and other streaming services would pause or lose connection. This particular product has an ethernet connection and it works perfectly.

    This makes the second one of these i purchased the first is in my bedroom this one is in the front room. This is a nice video player it has excellent video and it has a lot of features built into it which makes it nice to use and it is wireless so it is very nice.the

    I recently purchased (at Best Buy) a new tv and home theater sound system replacing a worn out failing one and my old blue-ray player needed replacing a long time ago. I saw this one and researched about it and trusted Sony as being a good product so when I saw this one for the price it was going for, the choice was easy. It works really well. As a Best Buy Plus member, got an even better deal on this item. I also purchased a uhd-HDMI cable as well to get the most out the UHD tv and DVD features (I would recommend getting one). I had an old cable but it surely wasn’t up to par. Everything plays – regular DVD (upscaled), blue-ray, 4k ultra high def dvd, blue-ray 3-D, cds on this player. It also doubles as a steaming device with the built – in WiFi and has one touch access to certain popular streaming services pay and free. I’m completely happy with it and have seen others costing more but frankly, I can’t imagine why, they honestly aren’t any better and are not worth the extra money. This is a good buy and getting it from Best Buy is a plus.

    This DVD player works very well. Older DVD’s look even better on it! The only drawbacks are that there are no controls on the box, so keep track of that remote! And there is not countdown display on the box. If you stop a movie in the middle and then watch a different movie, you need to keep track of there you are to find your place again.

    First, It’s a Sony. This little player is about half the size of my previous player. I have used it several times now and I like it a lot. The remote is on the small side, but it works very well. When I put in a DVD it turns my TV on and loads my video right up. About the only thing left for me now is to adjust the volume. I also like some of the additional features. I have used this device several times to watch YouTube TV, for example. I have had a little trouble adding additional apps, but that’s a very minor itch for me. Otherwise it just works great. No regrets on this purchase at all.

    works well with all media, very good at upscaling DVDs. Problem with energy saver sleeping player every 20 minutes if you don’t press controller buttons. Time adjustable on higher models.
