4.8/5 stars.
Good: It’s a Doom-like game fps. Full game is cartridge on. Looks great on the OLED Switch. I only play in handheld mode. I am now 5 levels in and the game has not froze. No real in-game money purchases—it’s all stuff you unlock and buy with ‘ore fragments’ found during game levels. There are plenty of walk throughs online to unlock hidden ores. Game is not overally difficult—which I’m okay with. The gunshots sounds are fantastic.
Bad: Music occasionally cuts in and out but no freezes.

An old school boomer shooter that actually remembers what shooters used to be. For all the revival fps games out there, very few actually stick to a classic 90’s formula, and thankfully Prodeus is the closest in spirit to a game that could have feasibly launched alongside Quake 2. There are no randomly generated levels or out of place visual effects, there’s no forced multiplayer or overly written story. You just get gun, shoot mutant things, and find keys in levels that are generally really good, because they’re actually made like a Q2 map, which is awesome.
Beyond campaign, there’s a multiplayer, map creator, and some other relics of the era, though the campaign alone is worth the 30 bucks.

A modern take on classic Doom style of retro shooters, Prodeus adds some quality-of-life changes to the age-old (but highly successful) formula. With things like alternate firing modes, weapon trials, and a navigable world map, Prodeus brings something new to the table and stands on its own feet because of it. Uniquely its own beast, it’s a must-play for any fan of the boomer shooter.

-feels like a retro shooter but with modern day wuality of life improvements. -not a great syory but works for what it is. -movement deels tight and lots if opps for exploration -only a few pergormsnce issues

Classic shooter, heavily inspired by doom where everything is done right; great and complex level design, fantastic looking and sounds weapons, tons of gore and blood and retro style filters. Only complaint is the level design tends to get worse as the game goes on, but still very enjoyable.
