This is an excellent surround sound speaker set. The sound bar, wireless subwoofer, and wireless surround speakers do their job well. Polk’s voice adjust controls are just what’s needed with many of these streaming services and their muddled conversations.

Awesome surround sound system. I was very surprised at how easy this was to set up. A true wireless “plug and play”. The sound quality is amazing! You can easily adjust the bass, rear and mid channel speakers to suit whatever you’re watching. It even has a voice setting that is great for me as I’m hearing impaired. Would certainly recommend this purchase.

Better upgrade from my samsung that I purchased. The soundbar is perfect along with the 10″ bass, definitely hear a lot of boom. Didn’t give it a 5 because I’m not sure about the surround speakers. Sound low like they are hardly playing, but I do hear faint noises when I’m listening to a movie. Thought I heard popping from one speaker, but could be interference when streaming movies. Which they came with speaker stands. Will monitor to see if it is an issue, but would recommend to purchase

This system is so close to 5 stars but is just missing a few things.
1) As many reviews have stated the rear channels are very quiet and as Polk has stated not every media supports those channels. Polk should have a button to simulate it and send audio to those channels. If I listen to music I want it all around me but streaming doesn’t support 7.1.
2) Ship the unit with surround at about +4. It will just help with wondering if the rear speakers are on.
3) The remote should be RF and not IR. If you want to hide the bar the remote won’t work.
4) The unit should display onto the TV when making adjustments. When I switch HDMI I should see that on the TV screen that the change was made. As stated if you want to hide the bar you can’t see the UI.
Sound wise, its very good when the rear channels are on. When they are not the whole room is not filled with audio which is frustrating for a system at this price. It all sounds like it is coming from the front of the room which might work in a smaller room.

Sound is very good and setup was easy. I like it having multiple HDMI inputs so that I have enough total HDMI inputs for the various devices attached to the TV. The only issue is trying to get the TV and soundbar to sync up when changing various inputs with the universal remote. However, this is more about me getting the settings right versus anything wrong with the Soundbar

So… got this sound bar and setup was a brezze! Unfortunately, the front panel of the main sound bar none of the buttons worked!! Checked the cable, tried a factory reset… Nothing fixed it… going to return this to Best Buy to hopefully get the 7 part that actually works! First Polk Audio system ive invested in! So I decided it was time to upgrade my 5 year old tv and soundbar. TV was acting up and we had a hard time hearing dialogue with the old soundbar. My main focus with selecting a soundbar is for dialogue boost for movies. I don’t like reading subtitles. I purchased a new LG 55 inch OLED and paired it with an LG 5.1.2 Atmos soundbar. I was unpleasantly surprised that dialogue was almost the same as my 5 year old soundbar. So I returned the soundbar and deciding to bite the bullet and spend more to get better dialogue. I decided to purchase the Polk MagniFi Max AX SR with surround rear speakers. This was significantly more than the LG that I returned. I excitedly hooked everything up and plugged it in to the HDMI (E-ARC) on the TV. I turned on Avengers Infinity war and watched the opening scene. That’s my test. If I could hear the “We are under assault” dialogue clearly, then i’m good. Well, I was disappointed. I turned the Voice setting all the way to Max and the dialogue was maybe just a little better than the LG that I returned. I tried to research the interweb because maybe i set it up wrong, but I get the same result. I’m confused because everybody boasts about the dialogue handling of this soundbar. Am I missing something? I just want to hear dialogue over the sound effects, just like the movies. I REALLY wanted to like this soundbar. I decided to keep it anyway since I really don’t like returning stuff. I might get blacklisted from BestBuy. The Bass is better, but I have to turn the volume up to feel it. For the price I thought I’d get almost movie theatre sound, not quite. I guess i’ll just upgrade next time to an amplifier. For now, i just set the sound mode to All Stereo so at least I can hear the dialogue from the rear speakers. I still need to turn on the subtitles though.

This would have been a great product if one of the rear speakers didn’t always pop on movies & streaming. Bass is on 0 & it still pops & Polk doesn’t sell these speakers buy themselves. Also, for some odd reason this was listed as 7.1 in the past but now BestBuy list it at 5.1?!
Even on Polk’s website it’s still listed at 7.1. Unless Polk can tell me how to fix popping then I will change review & not send back. By the way, there is no internet interference as they claim

Best surround sound system I have ever had. I had a really small Samsung bar and sub. It’s not even in the same league. Movie theater sound. You can feel the weight and you know those speakers are good. It’s just honestly amazing. Goes well with my 70in Samsung and probably any tv. It is pricey but I thought why am I gonna shell out for a couple watts. Get something that’s worth the money.

It sounds decent, sub and surround are noticeable but the soundbar itself isn’t much of an upgrade over cheaper options. Connectivity options and features are all good as well, remote is a little laggy, but that’s whatever. If you’re looking at this price point, you’re probably waiting something better than a basic soundbar that has wireless surround sound. The wireless surround is a nice to have, but if that’s whats making this a few hundred more than other systems, you can do without it. If you really want surround sound, buy a real system. If you really want a soundbar, look at cheaper options because there really isn’t much in this one over something a few hundred less.

Little difficult to setup as there isn’t a menu screen nor it doesn’t have digital display for personalized settings as volume bass etc. only issue I have is the smaller back speakers only plays background noise and special effects only sound bar only puts out most of the sound. If it had a display for the settings I would give it 5 stars for ease to use and the setup will be lot easier. Connecting the speakers to the system is easy as touching a button and making sure the light on each speaker turns green

Salesman tried to talk me into another trendy/popular brand. I’ve always enjoyed Polk and this one is certainly no disappointment. I bought it for use in a motorhome and it is awesome. Sound quality is great. Amazing how right left separation can be heard. I didn’t expect that from a sound bar as I have always had a full theater set up in my house. The subwoofer has plenty of power and low end. The Bluetooth connectivity has been flawless. the rear surrounds have plenty of adjustability and can be heard quite well. I bought this to replace the Nakamichi Shockwafe 7.1.2 because i wasnt impressed with the performance. And oh boy i made the right decision. After plugging everything in, i played Superman, John Wick Parabellum and Gravity amd OMG, it was awesome. Its even better than my previous Samsung Q990B which i returned because it has gotten defective. The sound quality is awesome. Fight scenes has become more intense. Very happy now and this one is for keeps
