Very handy for a surface tablet…………………………..

Works perfectly.
Convenient to examine unit in store prior to buying to verify suitability.

I valued the assistance I received from this particular location. Feeling desperate after the original power cord malfunctioned, I went to several vendors, including another Best Buy location. The story was the same….there was nothing to offer. When I visited this location (Wolfchase), I had to simply say “power cord and surface pro.” The salesperson with confidence found and sold me exactly what I needed. It was the perfect replacement, though somewhat pricey.

Worked amazingly well with my Microsoft Office pro and additional screens.

This was listed as Open Box Excellent which states it includes all original packaging, materials and accessories. This was not the case. This item was loose in a Plastic Zip Lock Bag. It looked like something you would pay the cheapest price on Ebay for – not what you would get for a premium price that has Best Buys ‘Excellent’ criteria. So beware of this. They are not always holding to the criteria stated on thier Web site for ‘Condition’.

Works like a charm. Works well with my Surface Laptop 3.

This works fine. My old one broke when the power cord was pull out at an angle. Also does not update itself
LindaJ –
Allows connecting all peripherals through 1 device. Plus nice power supply.
Jlucky –
This is exactly what i needed. I purchased a monitor and hooked up my surface pro to it. This rocks!

Make your life convenient and buy this. Thank me later.

Great product. Worth the cost. And the total tech discounts are awesome
CHINO –
I have bought 30 of these to run my office. Never had an issue.
ITsupport –
Shipping was fast and it worked perfectly with our Surface 9.

If you want the classic doc-able laptop experience, this is a mandatory purchase. It’s nice to have this tucked away behind a monitor, and having a single cable for data and power.
Ramrod –
Has a few USBs for thumb drives and wireless devices.
Cables –
It does what it’s supposed to. It doesn’t consistently power all the ports that’s supposed to be accessible with this unit. Pricy. It is okay, yet if you can find a better alternative, do so.
JosephM –
Does what I need it to do. No issues. A bit expensive.

I bought this because it is a docking station but also serves as the charging cord. Nobody likes a cluster of cords so I was happy to eliminate the charging cord from my desk.

I do design work professionally, and require two additional monitors to my Surface Laptop 3. My monitors and OEM cables are new, and high quality, and my laptop is also new. My old dock failed to run two monitors so I decided to trust the Surface Dock 2. The dock functioned alright at first, sans headphone functionality. After a day, the dock performed a software update, and no longer could run my monitors (not 4k & 60Hz). After a long process of troubleshooting, Microsoft (to date) has no solution, and I returned the dock. Very disappointed. I bought the off brand alternative for $88 and it works just fine.

Thie is really great oroduct i use it everyday for work
JennyB –
Easy set up! Item as described and works as it should! Enough outlets to connect 2 monitors, flash drive and wired keyboard. Plus 2 front usb-c for whatever needed.
BrentG –
Perfect adder to my computer. Does what I needed it to. Port replicator is easy to install.
YelenaG –
This dock is great- I use it to connect two external monitors to my Surface laptop. It also freed up the charger that came with my laptop, so I use that for travel now, and the dock is used for my home setup.
Jimm –
Microsoft’s Surface Dock 2 is all you need to do videoconferencing or stream movies to a big screen,
Win2k –
$250 for a dock is very expensive, regardless of what features it offers. this dock somewhat makes up for it, however, by offering 2 usb c ports with displayport compatibility, 2 more with charging passthrough, 2 usb a ports, and an ethernet and 3.5mm adapter. all of this while being a longer (and faster charging) cable than the included charger make this a worthwhile upgrade UNLESS you need sd card expansion, as this has none
GregS –
Very simple to set up and very convenient. Allows for 2 monitors and a printer and keyboard. Ideal use is Microsoft wireless mouse.

Love this thing. Makes using my laptop at work so easy and great
Yahtzee –
Works great. Saves a lot of time of having to connect and disconnect cables when going form home to office. Wife loves it.

Works as expected using LG ultrawide USB-C monitor with Surface Book and Surface Studio Laptop.
ATXcarplay –
I needed a replacement. The ports have changed from my old one
Orlando –
This product works very well and is easy to take with you wherever you go.

I came into the store with a photo of the Surface Docking unit that was no longer working and asked for assistance. I was led right to the item on the shelf I needed and we discussed changing it out. I was super pleased with the customer experience and very happy my home office setup was back up and running 20 minutes after returning home.
EnidV –
This Surface dock 2 was not compatible with my computer.
KMerine –
Durable. Cords is of an appropriate length. Works as expected.
Baitnswitch –
Does a lot in a small package. Microsoft genuine product. Does not do 2 screens 4K @ 60HZ. It advertises it does. But after 2 docks, I’ve learned it doesn’t have the bandwidth. I had to downsample my second screen to 1440P to run at 60hz.
There are more expensive options that can do. But this is good if you just need more screens and willing to run it as is.
RandyN –
So far has worked wonderfully without screen or device issues.
Kpharma –
Best Microsoft Docking Station. Able to connect two monitors, keyboard, mouse, and two USB type c.
Monica –
Gives me additional ports to include other devices if needed.
DannyF –
Added this to my purchase to be able to hook up various cables and not have a huge mess, should have done it sooner. Easy to work with as well.
K8Tea –
Works seamlessly with my Surface computer to add a monitor to my work station in my home. It was easy to install.
Maxwellianation –
This is the perfect companion to my Surface Pro 9. Allows me to connect multiple monitors and peripherals. I have two 34” ultrawide monitors connected along with my ethernet connection and setup is a breeze. I also have a Surface Dock 4 and prefer the built in connector in the Surface Dock 2.
JonathanS –
A must have if you’re going to use your Surface as a desktop replacement. Makes it very easy to connect extra monitors, and still have ports for everything else.
RobertA –
Works great! A big improvement over the first docking station model.
Olga –
I love the fact that has so many charging ports.

It was buggy at first, but the firmware updates made it now flawless with my surface pro7.
KarlE –
Bought for a surface pro 8, and works perfectly to run full setup including monitors.
ZacharysK –
Works amazing on a Surface Pro 6 with dual monitor setup. I was a little concerned at first using an older system and I’ve never used USB-C ports as display ports. Thankfully it turned out amazing and exactly what I needed.
ChaseW –
If you are wanting to turn your Surface Laptop into a desktop this is the way to go. I take my laptop between work and home and I have this setup for for both. It has changed my day to day for the better.
Sophia –
Easy to use just connect it, works with surface pro 7,

I’ve been using the dock for over a year now and it’s been a disappointing experience. The design of not having an HDMI or DP connection is not great, and requires you to go buy another accessory to link to an external display. The cable I use works fine when plugged into the USB-C port on the side of the Surface Pro 9, but when I plug it into the dock, Windows complains about not having enough power (the dock has an external power supply!) and the video signal drops out occasionally.
