I bought this item as an open box item from Best Buy, apparently it was not inspected properly by Geek Squad because the soundbar looses audio connection every time a loud noise comes up. Maybe ill give it another try if i buy it brand new.

So far it’s been a really terrible product especially for the price & it sucks because it’s small like I need it to be. It constantly just stops working & you have to go unplug the hdmi cord & then plug it again. Over & over, sometimes 5x in an hour. It will look like it’s on but the sound just stops coming out. It has completely turned itself off also. Sound from it isn’t great either. Voices are not any clearer when trying to get that effect & when trying to have a more cinema like experience with bass, etc there is no difference either. Owned for almost a month now

While this is my first LG Soundbar, it’s not my first soundbar. In fact, I purchased a competitor’s product a few months back. I didn’t care for it at all, so I returned it just weeks later. Sound quality is very important to me, and not just for music. Clarity of the spoken word is close to being the most important quality for me.
Enter the LG SE6S Soundbar.
What a nice improvement! And though LG says that their soundbars work best with LG TV’s, it is working just fine on my Hisense 65”.
I have the Soundbar and TV connected by way of an HDMI cable to the ARC port. Once the HDMI cable was connected to both, my TV automatically identified the connection as being the ARC port, and great sound came from the soundbar as soon as I began streaming a movie.
Volume Up and Down volume can be controlled with both the Hisense TV remote and by the LG Soundbar’s remote. When the soundbar is lying flat on its back, you can see three LEDs illuminated on its side – each combination of on/off LED meaning something unique. It might mean that the units are connected by way of Optical/HDMI ARC port, or that Bluetooth is ready to be used, or that it’s Wi-Fi ready. And so on.
One of my first tasks was to install the LG Soundbar app. This app lets you control specific aspects of the unit. One, for example, I used the app to make the Soundbar Wi-Fi enabled to my network. I haven’t tried linking to the soundbar from other devices, but it’s there for when I need it.
Other features include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Amazon Alexa: It is Amazon Alexa integrated but for the integration to work you’ll need to log
into a valid Amazon account. Doing so lets you listen to music, news, and other information for
your region.
• Night Time: This reduces the intensity of sound if it is getting late at night.
• AI Room Calibration: This optimizes the sound for wherever the Soundbar is located.
• Speaker Adjustments: Let’s you adjust the internal speakers so they work/sound best for you.
• LEDs: Lets you adjust the brightness of the LEDs.
• Software Updates: This is one way of getting Soundbar software updates.
The Soundbar’s remote has a number of built-in function buttons, aside from the obvious Power button. One button is called Sound Effects, and each press of the button changes to a different sound effect. For example:
• AI Sound Pro: Artificial intelligence selects the optimal sound settings to suit your content.
• Standard: You can enjoy optimized sound.
• Cinema: Play content with 3D sound similar to a movie theater.
• Clear Voice Pro: Voice sound clear, improving the quality of voice sound
• Sports: Realistic sound like you’re in a stadium
• Music: You can enjoy better sound optimized for music.
• Game: Optimized sound for game
• Bass Blast (BASS BLAST+): Bass sounds are enhanced.
A button called Sound Tuning will do the following:
• To make this work, press the Sound Tuning button and then Left/Right button to select the
desired speaker. Then press the up/down buttons to increase or decrease the sound volume on
that speaker. The three speakers you can control are the Center Speaker, Treble and Bass.
A Bluetooth Button is also available:
• It allows you to pair your Bluetooth device such as a smartphone to this product for three minutes. I admit I don’t understand the three minutes part of this, unless that means that you have three minutes to successfully pair. Perhaps once paired, it’s paired from then on.
An Information Button:
• This button appears as 3 dots. When pressed, it verbally states the status of the Soundbar.
I’ve been using the SE6S Soundbar for a while now, and I can say that I really like it. I use the Sound Effects button a ton, with Clear Voice Pro, Cinema, Music, and Sports being my favorites. I never play games, so I can’t speak to that one. And the AI Sound Pro option is no slouch either.
Although this unit isn’t physically imposing, it packs a lot of good features that thus far have perfectly met my needs. As such, I am giving the SE6S a 5-star rating.

Soundbars have replaced extensive AVR systems for most people. The minimalism is very appealing. It is much more manageable if you can replace five speakers with one. Speakers do not need to be cluttering up end tables and behind couches. Some purists still swear that the AVR systems sound better than simulated surround sound. I am one of those people. I have a traditional AVR 5.2 setup connected to my LG OLED C8 in my main living room. I can’t take the next step to a soundbar with that space. I decided to test one out on my desktop setup. I replaced this LG Eclair with a Klipsch 2.1 setup. This Eclair won’t replace a surround sound setup, apples to apples, but it can replace a 2.1 setup.
The first thing I noticed when I unboxed it was the nice look of it. LG never disappoints in its designs, and while this is a minimum-looking long speaker, it has nice LEDs, touch buttons, and minimal branding. It was packaged well, too. Everything you need to get it set up is in the box (other than an optical IN cord if you need one). The HDMI will do the best job, but in my case, I had to use my Optical IN due to both the XSX console and the PC hooked up to my LG monitor. The sound doesn’t change much to me between the two, thankfully. There have been times when I’ve used an optical IN, and the sound suffers. That isn’t the case here.
The sound does pack a punch for how small the speaker is. It’s perfect for the desktop setup. It may fill my larger living room space where the main TV and AVR system are, but it sure fills up the office setup. I didn’t have to do much for it to get great sound, either. The only thing I did was perform the “AI Room Calibration” in the app.
The app is called “LG Soundbar” and works pretty well on Android. You can change the “function” or the “sound effect.” The sound effect setting will specify the listening you are doing. So, if you’re watching sports, it has a “sports” setting, gaming, cinema, music, bass blast, or AI Sound Pro. AI Sound Pro will automatically optimize sound based on content type. That’s awesome. This is the first time I’ve seen that in a speaker setup. The app also connects well, so nothing I’ve experienced makes me think it’s half-baked. The speaker can hook up to your WIFI, Bluetooth, HDMI, or Optical IN. So you have a lot of choices.
The MSRP on this soundbar is $449, but it’s on sale today (10/20/23) for $313.99. That’s a fantastic price for this. No, it doesn’t come with a subwoofer, but again, depending on the setup you’re going for, you may not need one. I sure don’t. I’ve spent more money on smaller, portable speakers, so to have a primary source of sound for a significant setup, like my desktop, $314 is an excellent price.
The value is here. LG offers the same setup with a subwoofer for a lot more money, so if you need one, go for that one. But many of us aren’t looking for a vast, shake-the-wall setup. This is an excellent answer for smaller spaces (especially offices, bedrooms, or an entertainment corner).

Over the past 10-12 years, I must’ve gone through 10-12 soundbars spread over 3 tv’s in the house. Can’t say any of them have been perfect. It’s either mediocre sound, excessive bulk from subwoofers, or, worst of all, connection issues. I thought getting tv’s with Arc and Earc would solve the issue, but I still encountered problems.
So, I was pleasantly surprised with the out of the box experience with the Eclair (why the name?!) First off, don’t think I’ve ever received a product that provided it’s own HDMI cable. Yeah, it’s a small thing, but saves you from hunting down a cable or having to buy one. Even provides wall mounting brackets – that’s a trip to the store and a 10 buck saving right there.
Taking the unit out of the box, it had a nice solid feel to it. It’s no lightweight at near 8lbs. The design is also minimalist, a fine mesh grill with no logo, and near invisible touch buttons along the top.
Hooking it up to the Earc output of the tv, and given some of my prior experiences, I was ready to start arguing with it. No such issue – turned the tv on, and it was immediately recognized. Right behind the grill, I noticed a small Led lit up. Referring to the manual, I see it has a total of 3 Leds, which, based on the function the soundbar is performing can light up in a different sequence or color – red for power, white for wifi or HDMI, blue for bluetooth, or purple for USB.
I downloaded the LG Soundbar app, and got another surprise – it didn’t ask me for a login or to sign up, it only wanted to be logged in to my Wifi so it could talk to the soundbar. Another minimalist feature. If you were wondering about the Leds I mentioned being on all the time, there’s a feature in the app to have them turn off after a 10 second delay. The app will also initialize, at your preference, AI room calibration to best make use of the sound in your available space.There are also settings for sports, game, movie, or AI sound pro which will make its own choices based on content. Should you choose, it’s optimized for Google Assistant or Alexa.
The sound quality is excellent, I’m using it in a 12’x18′ room, and there’s power to spare. I found the bass response more than adequate, however, if you’re into earth moving, this unit is also sold with a subwoofer.

The LG Eclair 3.0 Channel Soundbar with Dolby Atmos is a nice, high quality soundbar with impressive sound. Following are my observations in using this soundbar:
– The soundbar is a nice looking, thin unit with rounded ends. It’s dimensions are 2.5″ high x 31.5″ wide by 5.2″ deep. My TV sits on a entertainment center, so this soundbar sits right in front of the TV and is thin enough that it does not block the remote sensor on the bottom of my TV.
– The back of the unit has one optical audio input, one HDMI input, one HDMI output with which you can connect using eARC, a USB port and the power adaptor port. So there are multiple ways you can connect to the TV. I use the HDMI eARC connection which allows me to use Dolby Atmos or DTS:X sound.
– It comes with a remote control.
– This soundbar has Bluetooth and WIFI connectivity and connects to several streaming systems like Google Cast, Apple Airplay 2, and Spotify Connect.
– You can download the LG Soundbar App, which will allow you to connect to the soundbar to update firmware, configure the soundbar, adjust settings and access the AI room calibration to analyze your room and adjust for the optimal settings in your room.
– It has seven EQ presets you can select between. While those seven presets work well for TV watching and general use, I do wish it would have come with a custom equalizer though, as I like to set my own EQ settings when listening to various types of music.
– The most important thing about a soundbar is the sound. I was a little concerned about whether I would feel like I was missing anything since it does not come with a separate subwoofer. However, I am happy to report the LG Eclair 3.0 channel soundbar performs great and has more than sufficient bass levels so that a separate subwoofer is not needed. It sounds great in all TV applications. I can clearly hear the sound of the voices and background music is crisp and clear, plus it gives a good bass response when watching movies, with the deep rumble you look for in certain soundtracks. I also like to connect via Bluetooth to listen to music on the soundbar. I have tested it out with a variety of music genres, soft and loud tracks, acoustic, and both male and female singers. I am happy to say it sounds great with all types of music.
The LG Eclair is a high quality, great-sounding speaker that will work well for all applications.

Because we are older we bought this soundbar thinking it would improve the auditory acuity so we could better understand dialogue when watching TV. It really did not do that. However, because the soundbar has an additional speaker projecting sound forward the basic volume was better.

This is a good soundbar if you plan to use it in a small and medium sized bed room. The dimension is quite compact, which is great, and the price is a notch above entry level soundbar. In terms of performance, well, it’s good but not great.
The soundbar supports Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision and there’s HDMI port as well as the good old optical port. It also has both Bluetooth and Wifi connectivity. Upgrading the soundbar to the latest firmware is easy enough through the iOS app.
The soundbar is loud enough for a small room and it can also work for a medium sized room or even a living room. The sweet spot is a medium sized bedroom.
Performance wise, the soundbar’s audio characteristics are geared more to movies instead of music. While the soundbar supports Dolby Atmos contents, spatial awareness is not that great and that is pretty normal for a 3.0 soundbar. Speech is clearly audible so that’s good for watching movies and tv programs such as news. Overall listening experience when watching a movie is much better than using built-in TV speakers.
For music, it’s quite a different story. The soundbar does not perform bad for playing music, it’s just that I would’ve liked it more if the soundbar is capable to give more oomph at the low frequencies. Same case for high frequencies; would’ve liked it more if frequencies response is better. Overall, it’s not bad at all and very much likely to be significantly better than playing music straight from the TV’s built-in speakers.

I have a 6 year old oled tv in my bedroom that has dolby vision and atmos picture and sound, and I’ve been good with it’s built in sound for a while, but as my kids get older they are watching more stuff on my main TV or the basement one and I find myself watching stuff in my bedroom. The more I use the TV the more I find it difficult to hear things clearly. I usually keep closed captions on now in that room because these streaming services (and even cable before I cut the cord) was an issue with the dialogue clarity. This soundbar helped tremendously upping the clarity. With dialog settings in the mix setting (thought generally standard is just fine) and late-night settings also, I can custamize things to hear stuff well enough to not have subtitles on. Setup was not hard, though I’d again prefer to have more than a half page of instructions on setup and settings so I could read up on stuff before diving into the app, or have to download extra instructions. Just print them. I know i’m old, but it’s still my preference, not a mark against thus unit. Once downloaded, the app has you set up wifi, then pretty much you are set to go. When setup you can turn on and off the soundbar, connect by blutooth or wifi, set up you preferred ai assistant. I have mine as a large retailers, but it also asked about a certain search engine’s assistant also, I just didn’t do that. The bass and treble balance is excellent. I just don’t hear any distortion. Clear and crisp. It comes with an hdmi cable and I connected by arc, but optical also there (no cord included for that). Mounting template is also there and very sturdy wall mounts and hardware. Screws and drywall anchors included. Batteries also included with the remote. This sound is premium, and currently the price is mid range. I think a good value. No reason to not give it 5 stars.

Normally setup is very easy with a soundbar. There is not much to connect. I connected the included HDMI cable and there was still no sound after 90 minutes. Then I finally had an epiphany and connected a different HDMI cable – success. The original cable must have been bad. With the new cable, setup was a breeze.
You will need to install the LG Soundbar app for full functionality. Connection is available via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, HDMI or Optical in.
One of the nicest features is that you can use your TV remote to control the volume, modes and power on/off. Very handy.
I tested this soundbar with a newer big screen TV and a small TV in our guest room. I wanted to hear any difference in performance. The big screen TV is in a much larger room. The soundbar technology adapts to the size of the room with AI Room Calibration; especially our guest room. Sound quality was very good in both rooms. The guest room had a surround sound feel to it because of the smaller space.
Sports, Cinema and Music modes sounded the best and are the ones I will use the most. The Sports mode isn’t as good as my surround sound setup but it did sound very good. Music was very good but could have used more bass for some users. Cinema worked best for movies and dialog.
Alexa easily cast to the soundbar. My phone (Android) playlist also worked seamlessly. Sound quality was very good in the larger room but when I turned the corner into the hallway it was not as sharp. The soundbar performs best when you are directly in front of it.
One thing I didn’t like was the power cord hookup. It has a bend in it versus a straight cable to the soundbar. You have to position just right if you have it sitting. It might work better for wall mounting.
A solid choice in soundbars

The LG Éclair SE6S soundbar is a nicely configured single unit soundbar that provides numerous connectivity options and sound excellent. This soundbar comes well packaged and includes the sound bar, power cables, an HDMI cable, a remote control, mounting brackets, a mounting template and a quick start guide. You do have to provide the screws if you decide to use the mounting brackets. The unit itself is solidly constructed and is encased in premium fabric to enhance its look and feel and provide some sound enhancement. LG is committed to a better tomorrow and the unit is constructed with no less than 12% post-consumer recycled content that has been validated by UL. It comes with a 1 year parts and labor warranty. The device also supports both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
Let’s discuss the further features and functions of this device and then I will provide my insights on using it.
The device features cinema sound capabilities that are enabled though Dolby Atmos and DTS-X (and 7 other types of surround sound formats) to enable the sound to envelop you on all sides to create an immersive sound environment. This sound on the low end is enhanced through 4 passive radiators that enables powerful bass performance within the units small design. The sound bars sound spectrum though is full and complete. This is a 3.0 channel system with 20 W Center and 2x 20W Front speakers.
Setup is quick and easy and allows for connectivity via HDMI, Optical, USB, Wi-Fi (including Spotify and TIDAL Connect compatibility), and Bluetooth. The device supports Chromecast and Apple AirPlay 2. The device supports HDMI pass though with 4k and HDR supported. The device is setup with the WOW interface that would allow one to control both the soundbar and an LG TV with a single remote. Additionally the device supports WOWCAST capabilities allowing wireless connectivity between the TV and the Soundbar and supports Dolby Atmos. The device also features a passthrough refresh rate of up to 120Hz that allows one to enhance your gameplay by keeping the sound in sync with the video.
In my testing I found the sound bar to support all of my needs that I would use this for including Bluetooth connectivity from multiple devices, connecting to my TV as a sound device. The device sounds great and supports a wide audio range with powerful bass performance. Overall, this device is well built and delivers great sound.

The first thing I have to say about this sound bar is that it’s smaller than I expected. It’s tiny compared to my TV or some other sound bars I’ve had. This is nice, though, because it taking up less space on my TV stand means I can put other things there such as a clock.
The biggest complaint I have about this sound bar is that it doesn’t have an IR repeater that I can find. This doesn’t affect me since my TV has a Bluetooth remote, but for TVs without that it might be an issue if you’re putting the sound bar on the same surface as the TV – it’s kind of tall and seems like it would block the IR receiver off pretty neatly.
Other than that I’ve got no issues. The sound quality is good, much better than just the TV. It sounds nice even at low volumes, and the app has a night mode you can turn on to try to avoid disturbing people while using it. There’s an extra HDMI port to make up for the ARC port it takes up, and there’s multiple inputs as well so you can use it as a big Bluetooth speaker for instance. The sound bar also has Chromecast Built-in as well as support for Alexa and AirPlay. The sound bar can also calibrate itself for the room you’re in, which is nice.
The sound quality is pretty good, particularly for voices. I’ve played a handful of games on the Xbox Series X and the PS5 with it, and in both cases I’ve been able to hear the voices in game better than I have with a headset without sacrificing the quality of the rest of the sound. Of course, headphones vs sound bar is a pretty flawed comparison, so take that with a grain of salt; but the games I played with this sound bar did sound good regardless. I haven’t been watching TV as much lately, but the one Blu-ray I watched with this sound bar hooked up did sound pretty good as well. The bass is good without being overpowering and it doesn’t seem to be plagued with the “all mids” issue I’ve seen on some hardware.
I also appreciate that the sound bar has an optical input. I personally don’t need it, but having options is nice.
I also like that this sound bar can do bass well without needing a subwoofer. It doesn’t sound like anything is missing without a subwoofer, unlike some sound bars I’ve used. This is useful if you live somewhere with thin walls or just have sensory issues with lots of bass. The built in bass doesn’t seem to have quite the same force as a dedicated subwoofer would, but the sound quality is still good. This is nice because it relaxes my worries about annoying the neighbors. Of course, if you like the really forceful bass you may want to get a system with a dedicated subwoofer.
I’d definitely recommend this sound bar, especially if you live somewhere where you don’t have a lot of space. This would be perfect for somewhere like a college dorm or a small apartment.

The LG Eclair 3.0 channel soundbar w/Dolby Atmos — surprising output from something that doesn’t take up a lot of space. Just a couple things to note —
Let’s start with the good: this sound bar packs a punch for it’s size! Surprising amount of bass, and clean highs that don’t sound tinny. There’s an array of sound presets for different content (sports, movies, music, etc.), but it was easy to find a setting that sounded best to my ear and made everything sound good. Bluetooth connectivity seems strong. I haven’t run into any issues with the signal dropping out. I don’t recommend connecting a video source with Bluetooth because of a noticeable delay, but it’s great for listening to music.
That leads me to the bad…well, at least a chink in the armor of an otherwise great soundbar. This is probably very niche and won’t be an issue for most people. While the Eclair supports both Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision, it doesn’t seem to support Dolby Vision for gaming. I don’t know why this functionality gets stripped away. I didn’t know it was different from normal Dolby Vision. I had to buy an HDMI 2.1 splitter and have one line going to my tv and the other going to the Eclair. This fixed the issue, but it was frustrating nonetheless.
Overall I’m very happy with the ease of use and high quality of the Eclair. Sounds great and very easy to use!

The SE6S comes with the hardware to wall mount but I did not need to use it because my TV is on a stand and the bar fits nicely right in front of the TV. The bar looks good, is not distracting and the dark gray cloth cover blends well with the black TV and stand. I can’t say without seeing it, but the horizontal mounting orientation would seem that at nearly 5 inches it would stick out quite a bit from the wall.
Installing the product is simple using the included HDMI cable. If your TV supports HDMI ARC that is the way to go in my opinion as it makes the process pretty much plug & play with volume and power control from your TV remote. My television is also an LG which I think provides an opportunity to control additional sound bar operations from the TV remote, however, I did not experiment with that feature. I also connected my Blu-ray player directly to the soundbar HDMI Input per instructions. Not sure what the benefit exactly is but it does work the same as if it were connected directly to the TV’s input.
You can also, but not required for operation, install the LG Soundbar App (note that you will want to search the app store for ‘LG Soundbar’ otherwise it may be harder to find). There also is no app store QR code in the Simple Manual that comes in the box. If you download the full manual, it does have a code though. Once connected you can do pretty much all of the functions available on the remote control, as well as update the bar’s software, adjust speaker sound, change LED on/off behavior, and perform a room sound calibration (only available in the app) which I did perform. I experimented with the different sound effects and noticed some unique differences with each. I just set it to the AI Sound option as it’s mostly used for watching TV shows, movies, and some sports.
There are additional input options that I did not need or try out such as the optical input, or the USB media input but they are there if you need them. I did Bluetooth connect with my smartphone to try using it as a BT speaker. When the sound effect was set to music or bass blast it sounded as good as any other BT speaker I’ve used.
Overall, it is a great soundbar that offers good sound and quite a few features and a definite upgrade from the TV’s speakers, which are not all that bad either. The only aspect I was less than impressed with was the LED status lights. There are so many colors and combinations to indicate not only volume related information but also a myriad of connections and other statuses. The manual literally has 3 pages devoted to deciphering the different combinations.

As far as soundbars go, this one is relatively simple, in my opinion. It works well, but does not offer a lot of features. Specifically, it does not include a subwoofer, nor is there an option to add one later (at least from what I can tell). As a result, the sound lacks the bass that I would expect from an external speaker system. Yes, the speakers are better than the default speakers within any television, but with only three channels and no subwoofer, this is not a soundbar for an audiophile or someone looking to round out a home theater system.
The instructions are pretty sparse, but I found the hookup to be relatively simple. HDMI from my Apple TV and an HDMI to my TV. (From what I can tell, the soundbar operates as a pass-through. Not sure if I could hook it up to the ARC from the TV and then use the TV to control inputs… Did not try that.) The interesting thing is that my Apple Siri remote was able to control the volume on the soundbar initially, but then, for some reason, that stopped working. (I had to switch the remote option to IR as opposed to HDMI, which seemed to correct the problem, although I now need line-of-sight to the soundbar from the remote.)
The LG soundbar app on my phone is relatively simple, although there are several different settings that can be applied to the soundbar to change the sound (one of which enhances the bass, which did a decent job considering there is no external subwoofer available). For the sake of simplicity, though, I left the unit on “AI Sound Pro,” which is supposed to automatically optimize sound based on the content type. There is also an option to have the soundbar calibrate itself to the room, but I did not notice any difference in the sound once that was completed.
In addition to the HDMI input, there is a USB input, an optical input, and Wi-Fi and bluetooth options (including Google Cast and AirPlay). The unit also included mounting brackets and a template for mounting to a wall. Considering that you need power and HDMI cables running to-and-from the unit, though, I fail to see the benefit of mounting it to the wall unless you are willing to punch a hole in the wall and run the cables inside the wall.
So, overall, the soundbar works just fine and sounds better than the speakers in the TV. I would simply recommend considering the room it will be in. For watching TV in bed before going to sleep, I suppose this soundbar is just fine (and, again, better than the TV’s speakers). If you are using it in a living room or are trying to garner a home theater experience from a soundbar, however, there are much better (albeit more expensive) options out there.

After having this for a little while I have to state that LG has made a product that I would love to say OUTSTANDING on as it actually works 100% better that the Samsung one that I had which I would have to turn off them back on to get any sound from my TV to the sound bar the only thing that I do miss is the sub woofer. With that being said this LG product was so easy to set up that I personally didn’t have to read the instructions which is very unusual for me which is the biggest pro about it two wires one was the HDMI and to other was power once it was all plugged in all I had to do was turn on my TV and turn it on for the first time then set it to what I wanted to do. After that it turns on when you turn the TV on and sounds great. Which is another pro to this item I actually have a Fire TV so when I do stream a movie it actually sound like your there in a movie theater even without a sub woofer and it also picked up the Fire TV remote with no problem, it even works with the Fire stick is you don’t own a Fire TV. If you happen to have a computer that has Bluetooth or WiFi it will even connect to it, the only con that I will mention that this sound bar has it the fact of no sub woofer at all comes with it and it might be an item that has to be bought

This is a really nice Soundbar that can connect via bluetooth to your television, phone, laptop or any device that has bluetooth connectivity. You can also connect to your gaming console via HDMI which is great. The sound quality on this soundbar is so clear and loud with a good amount of bass. I have been using it to play music from my iPhone and the music sounds great. I love that you can control the soundbar via the remote when connecting via bluetooth, turning up the volume, changing the sound quality and a few other options. The sound bar was easy to connect to and set-up. There is a paper and screws to help with mounting on a wall, if needed. My other soundbar needed an optical audio cable to connect to my television, but this one does not. This one has an optical audio options, but is not necessary if you have bluetooth capability on your television. What comes in the box is screws, HDMI cable and the plug. There were not instructions in the box, but you can go on the website and get more instructions or information. This was a cinch to connect and setup. Love that you can connect via bluetooth. It makes it so much easier.

The LG Eclair 3.0 soundbar is not a complicated project to set up. I was surprised at how lightweight it was, the packaging weighed almost a much as the unit itself. Not much to it–the bar, a few cables, power adapter and a remote. I chose the optical cable connection since it allows everything coming in to the TV to be outputted to the LG Eclair.
For something in this price bracket, the sound is a little less than I expected. The bass is deep but not really very impressive. There are the usual available sound schemes matched to sports, theater and music that you can cycle through with the remote, I didn’t find them to be that different from each other. The sound is high quality and balanced though, and sounds very good especially with music videos and action-filled movies.
It comes with a pair of metal brackets and basic small screws to mount it directly to a TV but I chose to just leave it in front of the TV. It has that modern gray fabric kind of covering to it that just loves to attract dust so I guess it will need to be vaccumed from time to time. Sounds great though.

The only thing that I’m not a fan of is the indicator lights. You have to remember what each light sequence means. Other than that, super easy initial setup and an optional dedicated app.
Sound bar has an awesome AI Room Calibration feature where it sort of sends out an echo location sound to bounce back and get a sense of how sound travels through the room. Then it adjust to optimize the sound within that room. I warn you, the sounds it uses to calibrate is a little startling, but luckily you only have to do it once!
Crystal clear sound whether it is from the arc connection to a TV or Bluetooth. There are various sound effect options, the main one for AI Sound Pro is very interesting. It anticipates how to adjust to the type of content it is playing. That may be slightly smoothing out sounds, reducing obnoxious loud sounds, and/or lifting quiet tones. There are also settings for Standard, Cinema, Clear Voice Pro, Sports, Music, Game, and Base Blast.
Overall, this brings sounds to life in a natural way.

I am using this on a older tv in conjunction with an Apple TV, originally had just been using the TV speakers as its an older tv back when they actually put at least a pair of 5w speakers in the panel. Recently its started to sound like I’ve blown those little fellas out so it was time to get something in place to make it sound better. I routed my apple tv to the HDMI in, and then used the ARC to connect to the tv. This soundbar provided a dramatic improvement on the quality and volume of sound I am able to get out of the current set-up so I am happy about that. It supports higher end codecs like Dolby Atmos, however be aware you will not be receiving a true dolby atmos experience due to the limited number of speakers you are dealing with. It will absolutely sound better than anything built into your TV and works exactly as intended over ARC/eARC and integrate with your TV’s remote so you dont have to sit with multiple remotes in your lap. My main complaint is that this simply doesn’t get as loud as you would expect. I think some of this has to do with the content you watch as at times I am watching with it around ~30% volume, then for certain movies and shows I find myself cranking it up to almost 80% to get a good experience. This could perhaps be due to the apple TV passing sound to the soundbar but at the same time it is a dramatic difference and I don’t see a way to fix this other than just tolerating it. This also does not have a separate subwoofer, it is all incorporated into the soundbar. While they advertise a reasonable amount of peak watts for this soundbar it just doesn’t seem to deliver on that. I have a JBL wireless speaker that can provide more punch than this. Connectivity options are good, ranging from being a wifi speaker to being able to connect to a tv via an old optical cable. So this is a good entry level soundbar for folks that may still be using their internal tv speakers, but leaves a bit to be desired to anyone who has experience with soundbars that include a dedicated sub or those that have heard a traditional surround sound system.

I have used various sound bars from other companies along with various audio products from LG mostly their speakers and earbuds before. I have always liked the LG audio products as a consumer product. Setting up this soundbar is quite easy. You can use the HDMI earc, optical cable, Bluetooth, wifi to use ti Google Home, or Apple’s version of it which i think is Airplay? I have been using it with google home intergration, Bluetooth and optical cable. I have it set up with my phone through bluetooth and Optical cable with my monitor. Using the remote is simple and you can chnage the settings like between bluetooth and etc quite easily along with changing the volume or turning it on or off. This also works with Dolby Atmos so you get better sound as well. The sound bar gets loud enough and clear enough as well so it is a step up fro0m using your TV or monitor’s built in speaker unit but below a home theater setup. This is partially why I prefer sound bars because you don’t need a lot of space for it vs a whole speaker setup and you get good sound out of one like this.

Unboxing/Build Quality: My first initial thoughts while unboxing the LG Éclair SE6S Soundbar were very good. It was packaged well and easy to unbox. In the box are the soundbar, power cable, HDMI Cable, remote (with batteries), and mounting hardware. I did not test the mounting hardware as I have it placed on a flat surface under my TV. The soundbar is well built and has a very nice look and feel to it. The top surface is a smooth matte finish with touch sensitive buttons for your power, mode selections, connectivity selections, and volume. All sides are wrapped in a cloth finish that looks great. There are front facing LED’s that can visualize volume settings. The bottom has places for the mounting brackets and rubber feet so if placing on a TV stand, it will sit securely without moving or scratching. It fits perfectly under my TV so as not to block or intrude on my viewing experience. All in all, build quality doesn’t leave anything to be desired.
Setup/Connectivity: In looking at the back of the unit, you will find your power connection, optical, USB, HDMI in, and HDMI out. Setting this up was very simple and I was up and running within minutes. I am running only HDMI connections so I was not able to test using the optical connection. Connecting my phone via Bluetooth was extremely simple as well. I have had issues using my Roku remote to control the soundbar volume, but I will be looking into that further.
Sound/Features: There is an app that can be downloaded called LG Sound Bar that can take your listening experience further with in-room audio corrections, various sound settings, etc. I like the AI setting as it will adjust to optimize your soundstage. Having said this, I still feel that this soundbar leaves a bit to be desired in the lower range as there is no external subwoofer and only uses 4 passive radiators. This also brings me to placement of the radiators as they are all in line across the front of the soundbar and this is Dolby Atmos and DTS:X compatible. I did not get the soundstage that I would expect from Atmos due to the lack of upward firing speakers to create the immersive presence I had hoped for. Due to that, if you are looking for a good Atmos compatible soundbar, this probably isn’t the one to look at. Aside from that, I think the sound is good enough for small to mid-sized room.
Using my phone to stream music through this soundbar sounds just as good as any other quality Bluetooth speaker I have. It can get loud without losing music audio quality.
Final Thoughts: Overall, I think this soundbar is a decent one for smaller to mid-size rooms. It will do the job of providing better sound than TV speakers alone but will not be as fully immersive as an Atmos soundbar with upward firing speakers, soundbar with rear speakers and subwoofer, or full surround system. That said, I think it still offers a lot of great features that will give the average listener a boost to their listening experience over TV speakers.

I’m sure it is a great soundbar, but we didn’t need it. The Geek Squad said that the couch is so close to the TV that we would have more than enough sound. They were right! I thought every new TV required a soundbar. I’m sure the salesperson did not realize how small our house is. Downstairs, we have medium/large family room and we have a soundbar. It sounds like movie theater quality sound. We love it. If you sit fairly close to the TV, you probably don’t need a soundbar. Rating 5.

I think the utility of this sound bar will highly depend on the TV that you are connecting to. In my personal use, I’ve used it with a Hisense U8 series from 2022 (one of their best), and I don’t hear a dramatic difference in the sound quality. Apparently flat-screen TVs have improved their speakers dramatically in the past few years. That being said, there is a definite improvement in the depth of the sound. It’s difficult to describe, but you can hear a greater differentiation between the bass and treble frequencies. It is possible this difference comes from the ability to have AI determine the best sound-quality for the room it is in. There is a more resonant bass than from the TV, but not dramatically so.
If you are in a smaller space, such as a 1-bedroom as I am, then the fact that this works as a Bluetooth speaker is excellent. I don’t have to worry about having another device on the counter for cooking or while entertaining. Just switch over to Bluetooth and you are good to go.
The only minor issue that I’ve noticed is that if you are watching the TV with audio over HDMI, then switch through the inputs on the soundbar, when you get back to HDMI for the TV it will appear to be working by all indications on the TV but no sound comes out. The only solution I found for this was turning the TV off and on again. Apparently we are still not past the time of “have you tried restarting it…”

Overall I decided to keep this soundbar. It works well in my townhouse which has potential for noise to travel through walls. So we wont need a subwoofer. After the sound integration it performs well, however it doesnt sound amazing. Which for its price point is dissapointing.
Another knock against it is you have about 7 presets for the range in sound. You are not able to fine tune your sound. 5 out of 7 are useless. 2 work rather well.
I do like that i can connect to it via bluetooth when my TV is off as well.
Overall i kept it because i dont need a subwoofer right now, and i got the sound that fits my townhouse with thinner than preferred walls. If i has a larger space, or one with less potential to annoy neighbors i would choose an alternative with greater sound customization.

Terrible do nut purchase this sound bar. It is not good at surround or atmos. It creates no atmosphere, lacks bass and is underwhelming. Sometimes I legitimately feel like the tv speakers can get louder. It is often hard to hear dialogue as well. This is the worst electronic purchase I have ever made.

We wanted to upgrade our tv sounds, shoot who don’t like hearing a good movie. Well I thought LG tv why not LG soundbar. Didn’t want to spend an arm ad a leg, just something simple and with decent sound.
It looked really nice. Fit perfectly under the tv. Connecting it to the tv was easy. Even got it to pair really easy with our remote. Thought this is just what we needed.
Yeah…nope…this unit is garbage…it sounds all muffled. Like something was covering the speakers. Yes we went through and read the manual and tried to adjust what we could. It just didn’t sound that good at all. It was so bad I unplugged it and used the tv speakers again and was like that sounds so much better. But I still wanted a sound bar. Well back to Best Buy for a return.
Best Buy was really good about returning it. I ended up getting the another unit and am happy with the way it sounds now.

The available LG app on my phone allows me to control functions on the soundbar. Not a Cadillac of soundbars, but perfect for my situation.
