This works well when you don’t want any of your 12V outlet getting occupied by another plug-in gadget.

A fine kit that I never actually saw. It’s there though, inside my dash. It’s more than just a wire, it’s an umbilical cord transferring life to our new dash camera.

I’ve had my Kenwood dash cam for almost a year and finally decided to make the installation more “finished” looking. This kit makes it really easy. There is no wire cutting, attaching wire connectors, or soldering involved. You attach the black ground wire to a grounded location under your dash, you plug the fuse end of the “fuse tap” cable into the fuse panel and the “bullet connector” end of that same cable into the USB power cable. Tuck all the cables away and you’re done. I’ve tinkered with car electronics before, but this product can be installed by anybody.

This kit installation is easy and you are able to hide the wires better making for a clean look. This kit allows your dashcam to record events when your vehicle is off.

A great product to hard wire your video cam into you cars wiring instead of having to constantly plug and unplug from cigarette lighter. Only problem item should of been included with the video camera instead of having to purchase separately.

Good enough deal to make the system work without trashing the car dash.

This doesn’t work whatsoever. It doesn’t send power back to the Cam. After the first one failed to work, I bought another one and same result. Used a tester and didn’t show any power. Bought a separate fuse tap and same result. I used to think Kenwood made quality products but after this, I’m not so sure.

15 minutes to install myself. No need to use the cigarette lighter charger and run unnecessary wires across the dash.

I have had a dash cam permanently installed in my Grand Marquis & I just had the Kenwood permanently installed in my Subaru. If you are getting a dash cam that is the only way to go. If you forget to plug in your dash cam & you have an accident then you wasted your money, & if you plug the dash cam in & forget to unplug the little thing then you will end up w/a dead battery. Like I say I am VERY happy w/the installation & it is well worth the investmentment.

plug is straight. Should be a 90 degree plug to function properly as a hardwire kit and keep the wire less visible. Most other kits have 90 degree plugs. I am not sure why Kenwood couldn’t think of this important detail.

This is probably the worst accessory designed. Most dash camera hardwire kits want you to tap into an always hot circuit and a ignition switched source. This however is only looking for the always on, which will just make the camera always on and will drain your battery (it even stats in the manual if your not going to drive your vehicle for more than 2 days to unplug the dashcam.) It also has a straight plug instead of the right angle plug the original cord comes with which is a minor nuisanse. But my biggest gripe is that I went through the trouble of installing it and having the wires hidden only for it not to work at all. 12 volts goes in, but nothing is coming out, how does that slip past any sort of quality control, if there is any I suppose. So if you want a dashcam to be hardwired, buy a different dashcam.
