    WOW, great size and value. Compared to the big brands, all my Insignia products are fabulous! Easy to learn how to setup and use. My kids love this microwave.

    This is a nice midsize unit for an apartment or smaller kitchen. The controls are intuitive and it has the right amount of features to be useful, but not over-complicated.
    The only negative is that it’s fairly loud. There’s a pronounced cabinet buzz that can be kind of annoying.

    This Insignia 1.1 cubic foot microwave is an excellent performer and a terrific value for the money. It is quieter than the GE microwave it replaced, and is extremely easy to use thanks to the well designed controls. I’m very pleased with my Insignia microwave and at this price point nothing else comes even close to it in quality and performance.

    We ordered this microwave to replace our old one. When we got it we tried it out. First run was ok. Second time it started overheating and shutting off. Tried again and the same thing. Will be returning this item

    I would have liked if the display had a brightness adjustment, but it looks like this feature is still non existent in 2024.

    Out of box did not work. Unbelievable and upsetting. Packaged well no sign of mishandling. Placed glass of water in oven. Heated for 2 minutes. Still cold. Tried all power levels, none of which worked.

    Customer service in middle east somewhere. Very difficult communication.

    The only comment I have is that when the time is over, the appliance does not beep 1 minute later, every minute to
    remind the person that there is something left in the oven.
    It finishes the heatting and does ring for 5 times to alert the
    job is done. But, again, if the person is away in another room, she can forget and if the appliance would beep every minute until the item is removed, it will be a great convenience.

    Does what I need it to do. I heat up frozen burritos. I can make popcorn. Although, at least with the popcorn that I bought, the popcorn button only seems to want to give about 45 seconds but the bag needs about 1 minute 50 seconds, but I’m not gonna hold that against it – the writing on the back of the popcorn bag SAYS not to use the popcorn button on the microwave.

    The microwave has some nice programming features that are useful (eg single press power selection, defrost by weight) and its cost was very low. The main criticism I have is that the plastic edges around the door are somewhat sharp. Not enough to cut you but enough to be uncomfortable to use.

    While I have read reviews of the unit mysteriously turning on at random times, I have not seen this as of the time of this review. I am not sure if this unit is as powerful as mentioned. I had an old 700 watt GE unit which used the same cooking times as this so called 1100 watt unit. So its not all that better in time savings..but the looks of the unit plus the fact it does fine as a microwave.. well these facts are in it’s favor.

    Micro died on Christmas Day 2023. Didn’t want to fight the post-Christmas crowds at retailers & my kichen is to be remodeled in 2024 so didn’t want an expensive replacement. Best Buy had this one in stock & would ship free with TotalTech membership.
    Other than heating liquids or leftovers or defrosting food, the only “cooking” I do with a micro is fresh veg or hot cereal. This model does that well.
    The complaints about noise level during operation seem valid however it doesn’t seem to override a phone conversation or otherwise impinge on other sounds, like a tv in the next room, so I can live with it.
    It’s just a basic microwave with some power to it. One cup of water will boil in less than 2 minutes.
