This Bosch replaced the same model that lasted us 15 years with minimal issues. We have used it for about a month now and it is performing very well. It is slightly louder than the earlier model, and the racks are different but we are getting used to them overall we are very pleased Value that Bosch provides

Does a great job of cleaning. Usual cycle about 2 hrs, 10 mins. I paid for professional installation, but this dishwasher is designed for much easier installation than GE or Whirlpool. The drawers/racks are absurd unless your kitchen is packed with skinny dishes like Corelle. Too many gaps in the racks. Silverware tray was a joke but luckily I saved my old tray, which fit. Stainless steel interior. Overall, a good choice.

Because I don’t use it every day, I have to rinse my dishes pretty thoroughly. On “normal “ cycle dried food does not wash off. I haven’t tried the extended cycles yet.

We have a more vintage style kitchen and didn’t want stainless finish. We went with this dishwasher for it’s features but also because it was available in white. Washes great and leaves few spots/streaks when using rinse aid!

The price we got this dishwasher is usually on par with lower quality dishwasher. But this one was competing against mid range dishwashers based on price. This will be my new default dishwasher if I didn’t want to get an upgraded dishwasher.

This dishwasher has been defective since day one, but Bosch will not honor their warranty.
After trying every solution I could find online and in the manual (along with many detergents and dishwasher cleaners and the help of a plumber I know), I contacted Bosch, and they sent a technician to my house. He agreed with me that it was not working properly. He said they would exchange it.
After he did a mandatory water hardness test, however, Bosch blamed the problem on hard water and said they will not replace (or repair) it. The technician agreed that hard water is not the problem. He said he has never seen this problem except in very old dishwashers. It certainly didn’t happen in my previous dishwasher or to the people I know in the same neighborhood with the same city water.
It is leaving a thick layer of detergent caked all over everything (since day one). It is clearly not cleaning properly. It is NOT water deposits. (I have tried products for that, anyway.) (It is installed correctly.) The technician—someone who repairs dishwashers for a living—agreed 100%, but the warranty people at Bosch, who were never at my house themselves, think they know better.
I called their customer service and made a claim, but they denied that. Multiple calls to customer service have gotten me nowhere. They refuse to do anything. I am now stuck with an expensive dishwasher that doesn’t work.
Bosch has lost a loyal customer. They will lose more money from that than they saved by refusing to fix this one product.

Excellent at cleaning. Very quiet. I find the organizing tines make it difficult to find places to load all various dishes (did not have that problem with my previous KitchenAid dishwasher). Silverware too easily bounces out of the basket if I drop items into the basket. The silverware baskets are a bit small.

Nice and wuiet but Bosch is coming to fix a few problems. Dishes are wet after a cycle. Door does not stay open doesnt clean well. Silverware camd out dirty. Disappointed.

It works fairly well and is quiet, but does not agree with documentation. It does not have a cutlery drawer which is shown in documentation. At the end of washing and drying there is still water inside. On installation day I was given a 12 hour installation period. I had to call several times to get a more accurate time.

The dishwasher is a notable improvement over our previous model, effectively fulfilling its intended function. While it occasionally falls short in completely drying items, even on the sanitary setting, I would rate it at 4 stars. Considering its price point, it certainly offers a worthwhile investment for the convenience of having a dishwasher in place. I have now had this model for a little over 2 years and remain happy with the purchase.

Bottom tray does get off track easily, Moisture build up inside after running load. I open it to let it air dry. I am not sure if there is a hidden coil for drying.

Bosch put the wrong utensil caddy in the dishwasher and I have fought with Best Buy and Bosch for a month trying to get the correct one! The bottom drawer always gets stuck too. It’s awful

For me, this is a 5-star D/W because I don’t care so much if it dries completely; I don’t think I’ve ever had a D/W that did.
It washes VERY well (but I do rinse first) and I love the hour wash (even tho it’s about 1.25 hrs).
It’s a simple D/W without the bells and whistles I don’t need or use.
Plus, Best Buy surprised me by having the best delivery process and there was good communication so that I could arrange the delivery and install around my high rise building’s very narrow (9-4 M-F) windows of being able to have these kinds of delivery/installs.

I know there are *a lot* of positive reviews for this machine. And I know that Wirecutter loves it, but this machine is a complete disappointment for me, and every time I use this machine I wish I didn’t have it. I would prefer to have my 26 year-old Kenmore back, if I could.
Two major issues:
– DEAD FISH SMELL – I will note that this problem is not unique to this dishwasher — it appears to be endemic to countless modern dishwashers, but this unit definitely has it. The issue is that the dishes end up smelling like dead fish. It is often so strong that I cannot eat from those dishes without *thoroughly* hand washing them again first. There are countless reports online, and discussion threads that are years long filled with people trying to solve this issue. There is no magic bullet. People have reported success with a variety of techniques, some only partial success, some have never been able to solve the issue, and some will purchase a different dishwasher with their fingers crossed. And if you’re wondering, our filters are clean inside. The problem was present with the very first cycle.
– Absolutely TERRIBLE RACK DESIGN. Just awful. Like how can wirecutter praise these machines? It is designed to be used in a very specific way. The bottom really only works well if you have a lots of plates and thin bowls. That is just not our use pattern. We use lots of cups, deep bowls, pots, mugs, bakeware, and cheap storage ware. Because the design is so single-minded, we can only load approximately half the dishes compared to our old machine. Also note that one of the mounting clips for the moveable tines began to break within the first 3 weeks because it is apparently *very* easy to move the moveable tine in the wrong direction?
Other notes:
– I am coming from 26 year old kenmore with the rotating timer, a heating element, and the big lever handle that you flip from left to right to lock and turn on the machine. That machine began to die all at once. IT could have been saved, but it would have cost as much as this new dishwasher.
– Sometimes new is nice. And while I didn’t pick it out — my landlord did — I may have very well ended up selecting this unit based on the reviews. I was really looking forward to this machine. But that anticipation has quickly grown into a profound disappointment. It’s something that I have come to lament nearly every day when I interact with this machine.
– Air drying seems to work ok, Considering how hot the dishes get, it makes me wonder how much energy you really save with these units. I think I would still prefer a heater element in the base.
– I haven’t figured out a way to pause the machine and open the door without water spraying out when you open it. That might just be me.
– It does in fact seem to clean dishes well enough. But it is not a magic box, and you will most likely need to remove / rinse egg yolk from your plate before you wash it — as just on example.
– The fact that it actually seems to clean the dishes to some effect, and that the drying seems to work decently, and that it really is very quiet, just makes the disappointment about the fish smell and poor rack design hit that much harder.

Was able to catch this at a steal. Open box. Great dishwasher. Does what it needs to. Just like I wanted. Lightweight. Not loaded with crazy features but I’m ok with that, I don’t need all those other features., just wash and dry my dishes! Compare to my old dishwasher,,,, this thing is quiet! Love it. Hope it last as long as my old one did.
